WHAT TO EXPECT
- Does it hurt?! We strive for comfort with all our procedures at Simply Serene. A topical numbing cream is applied 30 minutes beforehand. Most clients report mild to moderate discomfort.
- Swelling and Bruising: Swelling and bruising are normal. Most swelling improves within 3–5 days, but it can take up to 4 weeks for product to fully settle and swelling to resolve.
- How much filler is used? The amount depends on the area being treated. For lips, we do not inject more than 1 syringe per session to help prevent distortion or migration. For facial balancing, we take a customized approach, typically using 2–5 syringes depending on your age, natural volume deficits, and aesthetic goals.
- Maintenance: Once your goal is achieved, we recommend touch-ups every 6–9 months for lips and once a year for facial balancing.
PRE & POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Pre-Treatment:
Arrive with clean, product-free skin.
Avoid Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Aspirin, Motrin, Vitamin E, fish oil, St. John’s Wort, and other NSAIDs for 14 days prior to treatment to help minimize bruising.
Avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours prior to treatment.
Do not schedule treatment if you are currently taking antibiotics or have taken them in the last 2 weeks.
Avoid dental procedures for 2 weeks before and after filler.
Stay hydrated and eat a snack/meal before your appointment.
Pre-Treatment:
Do not lay on your face or bend forward for at least 3 hours
Avoid applying makeup for 24 hours
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
Avoid extreme heat (sauna, hot tubs, direct sun exposure)
Apply ice or arnica gel if bruising occurs
Avoid facials, massages, or exfoliating treatments for 2 weeks
